    Maison&Objet Paris, A Designer’s Dream

Ingrid Bryson in Paris for Maison&Objet 2011

If I thought New York was a plethora of home linens offerings. The Paris show takes it to another level! The sheer number of suppliers was exciting and a sight for sore bedded eyes.

Fashion houses are moving into home textiles and are extending their brand into luxury bedding such as Hugo Boss, Kenzo, to name a few.

Silks, cashmere and finely combed cottons were the foundation of some of the more luxurious bedrooms. For the more contemporary bedroom vignettes, there were either splashes of color with Sonia Rikyel or the calm minimalist feeling as shown with Zimmer and Rohde’s new bedding collection.

Linen, has always had greater acceptance in European households. But as seen at the other shows, the trend to the natural look was definitely amplified at this show.
